Anthem of the Seas is the 2nd latest ship on Royal Caribbean Cruise line. This ship is part of the Quantum Class. This vessel holds 4,905 guests and an international staff of 1,500. Highlights of  Anthem of the Seas are epic! They are the first ship ever to have at sea activities such as Ripcord By Ifly, North Star, and the Bionic Bar powered by Makr Shakr. Other notable features on the Anthem of the Seas are Flowrider Surf Simulator, Rock-Climbing Wall, bumper cars, trapeze lessons, rollerblading, Sports Court, Outdoor Movie Screen, 2 Outdoor Pools, 2 Indoor Pools, 4 Whirlpools, Casino Royale, Royal Theater. And, that's just to name a few. There is also a youth group club, lounges, video arcade, a spa and even a retail floor where you can find brands such as Bobbi Brown and Tom Ford. All your needs will be met on Anthem of the Seas. Another really cool feature of Royal Caribbean is this app called the Royal iQ. It keeps you up to date with the latest happenings on the ship and even helps you plan out your day.

Ports of call

Orlando (Port Canaveral), Florida

Port Canaveral is home to the Kennedy Space Center, Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World, and much more. You can spend the day at any of the awesome sights or have a relaxing day at the beach or mall. I opted for the Merritt Square mall. The mall is about a 15 minute drive from where the ship is docked.

Coco Cay, Bahamas

Coco Cay, Bahamas is Royal Caribbean’s very own private island. The highlights of this private island are the Aqua Park, parasailing, guided nature walk tour, complimentary shuttle transfer, lounge chairs, floating bar, beach beds, bungalows, and loungers.  Complementary lunch is served on the beach. I spent the day being a beach bum, dancing and enjoying the tunes from the live band.

Nassau, Bahamas

There is plenty to do in Nassau, Bahamas. From taking a trip to Atlantis, to swimming with the dolphins, or the glass bottom boat tour. Of course where there is a beach, that’s where you’ll find me.

Meals

Below are a few memorable meals that I enjoyed and would recommend trying on Anthem of the Seas.

Memories

The art on the ship

Being the art lover that I am, I was extremely impressed with the incorporation of art on the Anthem of the Seas. There were beautiful installations and interactive art that could be enjoyed by people of all ages.

Bumper cars

Imagine going on a cruise and being able to enjoy bumper cars… for FREE? Well you don't have to imagine because Anthem of the Seas makes it a reality! This activity was a lot of fun. Make sure you go early if you would like to participate. There is a lengthy line you’ll have to wait on, however it moves quickly.

IFLY

Now this was hands down my best experience! IFLY is a sky diving simulator. It is a wind powered tunnel that allows you to feel what it is like to sky dive without jumping out of a plane. I was a tad nervous but once I got in the wind tunnel all my fears disappeared and adrenaline and joy toke over.

North Star

DSC01655.JPG

The North Star is a glass observation pod that rises over 300 feet giving a 360 view of the ship and its surroundings. The North Star is in the Guinness Book of World Records for being the “Highest Viewing Deck on a Cruise Ship.” The ride up is very smooth and nothing to be fearful of. My mother is afraid of highest, and though it toke some convincing, she did it and said it wasn’t nearly as bad as she thought it would be. My only recommendation would be to try out the North Star when you are docked at a port to get a stunning view of the island. If you go on sea days, you will only see the ocean.

Bionic Bar

Would you believe me if I told you there is a bar that is run by robots? You place your order and the robot makes your drink. You can experience this spectacle at the Bionic Bar. They also make mocktails for those who don’t want alcohol but still want the Bionic Bar experience. I participated in one of their competition called Man Vs. Robot. Basically the competition is to determine whether man or robot makes the best cocktail. It was a fun activity that showed ultimately man is the better mixologist. Watch the competition below!

Shows

I must say that Anthem of the Seas does a spectacular job with the production of their shows. The sets, the costumes, the technology, just everything is simply amazing! The three shows that I saw were Spectra's Cabaret, The Gift, and We Will Rock You.

Spectra's Cabaret

Spectra's Cabaret was probably my favorite show out of the three. “Each night, the portal opens for a limited period of time and the audience can immerse themselves in a multi-media show brimming with kaleidoscopic sounds, effervescent colors, and dazzling movement. Spectra’s Cabaret blends live performance and experiential cinema along with music from popular culture.”- Royal Caribbean. Spectra's Cabaret incorporated many cultures in a captivating unique way. I won’t tell you too much, I want you to see it for yourself!

The Gift

The Gift is an enchanting tale about the importance of living life to the fullest and taking nothing for granted. The stunning visuals help tie everything together and makes it a must see.

We Will Rock You

We Will Rock You is a futuristic musical featuring the greatest hits of Queen and will get you moving in your seats.

Mom’s birthday celebration

Last but not least, my momma’s birthday celebration. The whole point of this trip was for her to turn up for her birthday. It was only right that I surprised her!
