Meals

The Keg

White Sangria

This was probably one of the best sangrias I've ever had. The White Sangria was made with white wine, peach schnapps, Grand Marnier, peach juice, and the combination was mixed with mint, green apple slices, and pears. It's not too strong but has the right kick leaving you with a smooth finish.

Scallops & Bacon

So I'm not a huge fan of seafood but I am of bacon, and anything that has bacon I am willing to try! This dish is scallops wrapped in bacon. I'm not sure if it's because it was bacon… actually I'm almost positive it's the reason this dish was very tasty lol.

Supreme Chicken Breast

This delicious entrée is chicken breast served with garlic mashed potato and bacon sautéed Brussels sprouts (again the bacon trapped me lol) finished with demi-glace.

Booyah

Ice Cream Taco

Wanna know where you can find a waffle taco filled with ice cream? Booyah is where it's at! This fun concept puts a really cool twist on tacos. The shell is made of waffles with your choice of three scoops of different ice creams. You can top it with chocolate or caramel drizzle and other toppings. My three ice cream choices were cookies and cream, cotton candy, and strawberry with caramel and chocolate drizzle and a dash of sprinkles. Perfection!

BeaverTails

Beaver Tail pastry

BeaverTails is fried dough in the shape of a Beaver's tail. Once your dough is fried to perfection, there is a selection of toppings you can choose from. Topping choices range from Reese’s to cookies and cream or even apple cinnamon. I opted for the cinnamon sugar. It reminded me a lot of a churro which I love! You know its good if even Mr. President had to try.

Memories

Caribana

Caribana is the biggest one day carnival in North America. The carnival brings together people of all cultures to celebrate the Caribbean culture through food, music, costume, and dance. This was my first time "playing mas" (dressing up in a costume) and it was one of the most incredible experiences I had this summer! Coming from Jamaican and Cuban descent, it allowed me to fully indulge in my culture.

Sunshower Fete

I was extremely skeptical when I first learned about this party. It's a water fete (party) with water guns, water hoses, pools, and even huge water trucks, and you dance and party with water. First thought was "I don't wanna get my hair wet" but I decided to tie it up, put a shower cap on, and go. Best decision ever! My only advice is to make sure you start to dry off by the time the sun goes down. It goes from fun to nippy real quick.

CN Tower

The CN Tower is classified as one of the seven wonders and is the tallest tower in the Western Hemisphere. The tower is an iconic symbol of Toronto and a sight to see. You can take a tour, and for an additional fee, walk on the roof with "EdgeWalk the CN Tower." Be sure to book your ticket and make reservations in advance or you will have an hour and a half to two hour wait if you do a walk in.

Niagara Falls/ Clifton Hills

You can’t go to Toronto and not make it to Niagra Falls. A marvel of beauty and delicacy, Niagara Falls has an American and a Canadian side and you can easily view both at the same time. Once you’re done there, you can walk in the opposite direction to Clifton Hills. Clifton Hills is a touristy area with many places to eat and activities to enjoy. It is also a great destination to buy souvenirs.

Coronation Park (Inukshuk Statue)

Coronation Park presents an awesome view of the harbor and is the perfect spot to have a picnic.  This park is home to the largest Inukshuk statue in North America. Inukshuk statues are important symbols of Canada's Aboriginal people. A fun fact is that the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics logo was based off of the structure.

Nathan Phillips Square

You know the huge Toronto sign that everyone takes pictures of/in front of? Here is where you can find it!
