Majestic Colonial Punta Cana

The Majestic Colonial Punta Cana is a massive all-inclusive resort that sits on the Bavaro Beach front. The hotel is so big you would need a full week to experience and see all of it. The best thing about staying in an all-inclusive resort is that you truly don’t have to step a foot off of the resort if you don’t want to. Everything you need is right at your fingertips. Majestic Colonial Punta Cana definitely gets two thumbs up! The cleanliness of the hotel is A1, the staff is very warm and friendly, the rooms are spacious, and the amenities are perfect! There are 8 restaurants to choose from, multiple bars, night club, handicap facilities, gym, live music, play room, meeting room, room service, medical service, pools, beach, kids club, free wi-fi, and so much more! The Majestic Colonial Punta Cana also has a shopping strip called Caribbean Street where you can buy souvenirs, clothing, and even pharmaceuticals. The hotel has an adult’s only area if you would like a more intimate experience with friends or your spouse. They have activities ranging from Spanish classes, to spinning class, beach volley ball, water polo, “crazy games,” aqua gym, dance class, live music, Zumba, bingo, and then some. The Majestic Colonial Punta Cana is hands down one of my favorite resorts.

Travel Tips/Travel Hacks: Always negotiate pricing. Taxis from the airport to Majestic Colonial Punta Cana vary from $30-$40. Taxis from Majestic Colonial Punta Cana to the airport are $40 for the taxi. If there is one person taking the ride it’s $40 and if there are 4 people it is still $40 ($10 per person.)

Meals

The Majestic Colonial Punta Cana has some of the best food I’ve ever eaten at a resort. From Dominican and Mexican cuisine to Oriental and Japanese, you are sure to find a meal that satisfies your tastebuds. I had the pleasure of eating at 4 of 8 of them. Some of the restaurants require reservations. It is important to make reservations to restaurants that you’re interested in as they fill up quickly.

Matsuri

Matsuri is a must! The hibachi/sushi buffet was one of my favorite meals at the Majestic Colonial Punta Cana. The experience with the chief was a lot of fun! He kept us entertained with games as he prepared our meal. I sampled mamajuana— a Dominican Republic drink that is concocted by allowing rum, red wine, and honey to soak in a bottle with tree bark and herbs. It looks intimidating but it was delicious!

Taino

Taino has Dominican and Mexican cuisine. The steak along side the chicken quesadilla was good. There is also a buffet where you can grab what you'd like.

*Reservation necessary

La Hispaniola

La Hispaniola is typically where I went for breakfast and lunch. During the day, the buffet offers beautiful views of the ocean while serving a variety of international options, including local cuisines. Here is where I tried mangu con salami— a traditional Dominican breakfast.

*No reservation necessary

Supreme

Supreme is an indoor international buffet with much of the same foods as La Hispaniola. The only difference is you swap the beautiful beach front scenery at La Hispaniola for air condition at Supreme.

*No reservation necessary
