Travel Predictions Post 'Rona
/If history has taught us anything, it is that it repeats itself. Therefore, if I had to guess, I would say that this pandemic is going to be around for at least 2 years and impact us for the rest of our lives. Much like 9/11, the Coronavirus pandemic is going to change the way we travel. From new restrictions to a totally new way of doing things, travel will definitely see a change.
Squeaky Clean!
It will likely be one of the cleanest times to travel with reduced contact, constant sanitizing, social distancing, and fewer crowds.
We are in the future future!
This pandemic has catapulted us into the future. If you thought that things were virtual before, you haven't seen anything yet. Contact free technology will be a major component. “The use of technology to reduce direct contact with guests, lobby population and front desk queue is encouraged, where feasible,” guidelines from the American Hotel & Lodging Association state. “In addition, contactless payment processes are encouraged, and when not available, employees should minimize contact as much as possible.”
Expensive or Cheap?
Moving forward, travel is going to be either really expensive or really cheap. Expensive because companies will be trying to make up for their economic losses due to the pandemic, or cheap to encourage people to spend money to boost the economy.
Domestic Travel
As many countries close their borders to America, domestic travel will be on the rise. This is a great time to explore the US.
No large crowds
It will take some time before large gatherings are a thing again. Many aspects of life will be phased in at a fraction of the capacity.
