10 Quarantine Valentine’s Day Date Ideas
/Welcome! You stopping by tells me that you might be looking for some ideas to make Love Day special. I can assure you, you’ve come to the right place. But before we get started, first things first. Get the email address of the person you want to ask out, plan the date of your choice (plenty of options below 😉), then email them a calendar invite with your itinerary. Let me tell you… you'll score 👏🏽 major 👏🏽 points. You're welcome
Now let's proceed, shall we?
1. Mixology Match
A mixology match is a great way to show off your cocktail making skills and get lit at the same time. You and your partner can challenge each other with a mixology contest. Pick a spirit(s) you'd like to use (be careful when mixing different types of alcohols), buy some mixers, and garnishes. You can do set it up as who makes the best three cocktails. For example a Margarita, Whiskey Sour and a Pina colada. Or you can do it where you guys just choose the spirit and use whatever mixers, and whoever comes up with a better cocktail for that spirit wins. The rules are up to you. Just have fun with it.
2. Channel Your Inner Basqui
This is Paint & Sip home edition. Grab a bottle of wine, 2 canvases, mini easels, acrylic paint, and paint brushes and you are all set. All art supplies can be found on Amazon or Michaels (if you rather a physical store). You can Google search for a picture that you/bae may want to do a rendition of, or you can look up painting tutorials on YouTube. Either way, creating a masterpiece with your loved one is another great way to spend the day leaving you with a souvenir to remember the day by.
3. Taco Tour
Valentine’s Day is typically a day heavily surrounded by gifts, candy, and nice breakfast/luch/dinner dates. Sadly, indoor dining is currently a bust which makes a taco tour that much more appealing. Basically what a taco tour is is you pick a few restaurants that sell tacos, grab the tacos to go, and walk, talk, and eat as you head to the next restaurant. It's a great way to bond, eat, and burn calories. Plus, who doesn't like tacos?!
4. Travel the World... For Free!
Now I know this is the one you were waiting on. How awesome would it be to travel the world for free? Ok, so this post won't entail the semantics of traveling for free (that post coming soon), but it will give you a dope Valentine's Day idea for you and your boo. This is actually a culinary post. You can travel the world through cuisines. Take a trip to Thailand with some Pad Thai, or Italy with Pasta Carbonara. Maybe a trip to Jamaica with some Oxtail or Curry Goat or a plane ride over to Puerto Rico for Arroz Con Gandules. Have fun with it! Order out or try to cook the meals yourself. Even decorate if you want to match the theme of the dish with its country of origin. Create a fake passport that’s actually a menu so bae has an idea of where you will be traveling for the night. There’s so much you can do with this!
5. Hire a Personal Chef
Imagine your significant other walks in and sees a table set up with a chef in the kitchen whipping up dinner? This could be your reality. There are plenty of chefs that do private dinners, however they can be pricey. An alternative to a personal chef is to ask someone that you're close to (that cooks well/doesn’t have plans) to cook for you and pay them. Another alternative is to have the food already prepared and have someone serve it to you and bae to still create that dine in experience. The possibilities are endless. Creativity always works well so get creative. This idea could also be paired with the one above it.
6. Spa Day
I think we all can agree that being pampered is the shit. Why not make a day of it where you and bae pamper each other? Start off with a glass of wine or champagne. Give each other massages. Move on to facials. Ladies, wash, deep condition, and oil his beard (or hair if he doesn't have a beard). Fellas, massage her feet and if you think you can handle it, paint her toes. Creativity aspect—make a coupon or ticket to cash in for each treatment. Not only is it quality time spent but both of you will leave feeling refreshed and relaxed after.
7. Vision Board Party
Discussing goals is very well one of the most intimate experiences two people can share. Why not put that energy into creating vision boards? Part of manifesting your dreams into reality is having the ability to visualize them. I swear by vision boards; 10/10 recommend. It's also a great accountability piece. Working on one with your special someone will not only show them your interest/goals but also allows them to help hold you accountable in achieving those goals as well as inspire you to keep pushing forward towards accomplishing them. Most people like to use magazines to cut out words, phrases, and pictures that align with their goals. I personally like to Google exactly what it is I’m looking for, print them, cut them out, and put them on my board. The choice is yours.
8. Strike a Pose!
An at home photoshoot could be just the thing that sets the tone for you and your partner this Valentine’s Day. It’s great if you have a digital camera but the way they make smart phones these days, you can achieve great quality pictures using them as well (iPhone users, portrait mode is a good start). You can make it a themed photoshoot. If you or your partner are content creators, you can take pics or record videos for each other of your work. You can create unique backgrounds using sheets or buying some on amazon. There’s no limit to what you can do with an at home photoshoot. It’s also a terrific way to immortalize the day.
9. Scavenger hunt
A scavenger hunt in the city is a cute little adventure you can embark on for Valentine's Day. There are plenty of ideas on Google for different types of scavenger hunts if you’re drawing a blank. Another cool scavenger hunt idea is to make one based on your relationship—first date, first kiss, likes, favorite restaurant, etc.
10. Have an Indoor Picnic
We all know that most places across the US are typically cold in February—especially if you're in the Northeast region of the country. However, that doesn't mean you can't have a picnic. You just have to bring the picnic indoors. The same exact way you would set up a picnic outdoors—you know the blanket, the food. Etc.? You can do this from the comfort of your home. Set the mood with some candles. Display beautiful views using your TV. Once again, get creative!

11. Be a Tourist in Your City
With the pandemic still in full swings, we don't have access to things that we used to. However, being a tourist in your own city is a nice silver lining and can be a lot of fun. Sometimes we don't get to really take in or appreciate all the beauty that the cities we live in possess. Use this as an opportunity to explore. You never know what gems you might find!
12. Virtual Date
In these challenging pandemic times, virtual dating has been the route many people have gone to stay safe. Set up a video date where you can enjoy a meal together or even watch a movie (been doing this before it became a thing and it's worthy). Guys, if you want to score extra points, ask her the day before what her top 3 meals or top 3 places she likes to order from and have it delivered right before your date. Think of a clever way to have her postpone her ordering so she can be surprised when she receives yours. Ladies, switch things up and order him a meal.
Hopefully, you found this list helpful and you’re all set with Valentine’s Day plans. If you're really with the shits, try doing a few of the options on the list and making a whole day of it! Don’t forget the first step, and I hope you have an awesome love day!
