Carnival Magic

Miles

Carnival Magic is part of the Dream Class cruise ships launched in 2010. The beautiful vessel holds 3,690 guest and 1367 crew members and sails to the Caribbean. The amenities are incredible on this floating hotel. You could never go hungry with several restaurants, 2 dining rooms, and many other places to eat. Activities are in abundance from line dancing to games, comedy shows to late night partying at the disco, miniature golf, basketball court, pools, water slides, and much more. You can treat yourself to a spa day or maintain your workout routine at the gym. You name it it's more than likely there. Then there's Reverend Dr. E, the awesome cruise director, who keeps things lively and fun.

Charlotte Amalie East, St. Thomas

St. Thomas is part of the U.S. Virgin Islands. This island offers some beautiful scenic views with bursts of color from the houses. I spent my time at Magens Bay Beach. The beach has a $5 entrance fee. The ride to the beach isn’t very long. The ride there is where you really get to see the beauty of the island.

Amber Cove, Dominican Republic

Amber Cove is a relatively new cruise port in the Dominican Republic. There are tours and excursions you can do but if you plan to take it easy the port has a pool with a lazy river and other amenities including a water slide, zip lining, kayaking, bars and dining, cabana rentals and much more. There is also shopping.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico has a population of 3.7 million people. I took a trip to the beautiful El Yunque rain forest in my visit to this island. Was it worth $60? Na, but I did fall in love with the beauty of the rain forest. After the rain forest tour, we enjoyed lunch at Señor Frogs.

Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos

Grand Turk is 1 of 40 islands that make up Turks and Caicos. Only 8 of the 40 islands are inhabited. Grand Turk is the capital of Turks and Caicos and home to some of the most gorgeous beaches I've ever stepped foot on. Governors Beach is my favorite beach but this time we opted for something different. I will definitely be returning to Governors Beach in the future.

Top 5 Cruise Must Tries

Quest game

This is one of those games where both the participants and audience have an equal amount of fun whether they are watching or participating. It’s personally one of my favorite activities to do while I’m cruising. Quest can be summarized as an adult scavenger hunt. The audience is broken up into several teams each assigned a number and team captain. The team captain is responsible for gather whatever item(s) is asked for, bringing it up to the cruise director, displaying their team number and the item in order to gain a point. The team with the most points wins. An example would be the cruise director asking for a male wearing women's lipstick. The team captain would grab a male from their team, put lipstick on him, then bring the gentleman wearing lipstick up to the cruise director with their number in order to get a point. I was the team captain this cruise and I won!

Disco

What better way to burn off all those calories consumed during the day than shaking your tail feather at the disco?  Music is typically top 40s and can be a great way to end the night.

Comedy shows

Head to a comedy show to get a good laugh before you head to bed or the disco.

Line dancing

I LOVE dancing so line dancing is right up my alley. You learn some of the hottest dances out. I've learned dances such as the "Cupid Shuffle" and "Bikers Shuffle." They even teach dances such as “Thriller” and “Single Ladies!”

Mixology Contest

Think you got what it takes to be a master mixologist? Try your hand at this fun contest to win a spot on the drink menu. Your cocktail would be featured on the drink menu for the duration of the cruise if you win.
