How many licks? Top 5 Ice Cream Shops in NYC 2016

The following is a list of the top 5 must try ice creams before the summer ends. The general price range for each location is between $7 and $10.

10 Below

This ice cream shop has Thai style ice cream rolls of different flavors with added toppings of your choice. The "S'more Galore" topped with whipped cream, blueberries, strawberries, and chocolate drizzle was delish! The ice cream is very light and not too sweet. Fortunately, there wasn't a long wait when I went but it is known to have a long line. 10 Below has several location but I went to the one in Chinatown.

The Original Chinatown Ice Cream Factory

The Original Chinatown Ice Cream Factory is located in Chinatown. This ice cream shop has a variety of fun flavors. The lychee, which had bits of lychee in it, was absolutely delicious! Usually I like fruits better paired with a sorbet but I have to say this fruit ice cream was on the money. My second scoop is taro which is a purple tuber similar to a potato. The flavor is kind of almondy to me. The two flavors are a match made in heaven!

Magnum

The magnum ice cream experience was very cool. First you pick which ice cream you would like. Next you choose which type of chocolate you'd like to dip it in. Then you choose what toppings you would like. Once your creation is made to perfection, you can indulge or show it off by taking a flick or two. They even have stations where you can do a photo shoot of your ice cream. Magnum is located in SoHo.

Eggloo

Another Chinatown favorite is Eggloo. Eggloo is a Chinese style ice cream dessert that incorporates ice cream and waffles. You have a choice of three different types of waffle, what flavor ice cream you want, and the toppings. The combination of the hot waffle and the cold ice cream is to die for, and definitely a must try!

Sprinkles Cupcakes

Sprinkles Cupcakes is a bakery in midtown (with other locations). I had one scoop of strawberry sorbet and a scoop of vanilla ice cream on a red velvet cone.
