Top 10 Date Ideas for Valentine's Day

Ricardo's Steakhouse

Located in Spanish Harlem, Ricardo's Steakhouse is a contender! The food is delish and the vibe is poppin! The restaurant is an urban space with an open kitchen & DJ entertainment. It’s also known to be a dope brunch spot. If you’re looking for tasty food and a turn up vibe, this might be the spot for you.

The Back Room

Want a unique bar experience like nothing you've ever done before, then The Back Room has your name written all over it. The Back Room is a speakeasy style bar hiding in the cut of a Lower East Side alley. Your date will surely be impressed by this one! Make sure you keep it on the low as to where you’re going to add some suspense to the date.

Love in Times Square

On the steps of Duffy Square (the red steps in Times Square) hundreds of people come together and declare their love, celebrate their relationships, have surprise proposals, weddings, and even renew their vows. What better way to spend the day of love than to be surrounded by love 😍. I absolutely recommend this for the lovers.

Paint and Sip

Even though this activity has become very popular, it's still a great Valentine's Day option never the less. You and your partner get to enjoy a night of creativity while getting lit. The best thing about Paint and Sip is that they constantly have deals on Groupon and Living Social. I mean, who doesn't like a good deal 🤔?

A List for the “Potential Baes”

So maybe you haven’t been dating for long enough to do the lovey dovey stuff or the romantic dinners, but you still want to do something with potential bae. I have a list for you too! And just for the record, old/established couples this can be for you as well. It's not limited to any one group, and you can dabble in here if you’d like 😂.

Genuine Liquorette

This spot in Little Italy is a gem! It’s a bar themed after a 1970s LA liquor store. The bar is located at the bottom of the Genuine restaurant. The décor is dope and they have a cool bull dog spin on some of your favorite cocktails. The atmosphere is fun and laid back.

UPDATED 7/2020- Unfortunately, this location no longer exists.

Cool Mess

Here’s yet another opportunity to showcase your creative side. At Cool Mess, you make your own ice cream. You pick a base flavor and 3 toppings of your choice. You’ll have fun in the process of making your ice cream and thoroughly enjoy the end results. Now here’s the catch… this spot is notoriously known to be a hot spot for kids. Depending on the time you decide to go, there may or may not be a plethora of children around. This may take away from the element of romance and sexy but can still be great if you want to keep things light and fun.

Check out the ice cream making process!

The Belfry

This bar located in the East Village is one of those places that you would pass a million times and never know it exists. Inside a beautiful retro, old timey atmosphere awaits you. The Belfry is great for local craft beer, wine, and cocktails.

Art Exhibit & Chill

Show your partner something new/different. This is an especially fun activity for art lovers. Chelsea has a great little section (19th St. to about 27th St. and 10th Ave.) where you can pop into galleries hopping from one to the other taking in all the art that each has to offer.

Make Dinner & A Movie

Yes, it’s cliché but you can’t go wrong with this option. It’s a wonderful way to show off your cooking skills and then cuddle up with a movie after dinner.

Flowers And/Or Chocolate

You honestly can't go wrong with either in my opinion. Most girls love flowers or chocolate if not both lol. Once again hitting a very cliché Valentine's Day gift, but when things are new, I feel like anything would be appreciated. It's the thought that counts. If she doesn’t think so, she’s not the one bro 😂.

I hope you were able to find something you’d like to try from my list or at least get an idea of what moves you’d consider making for Valentine’s Day. If you’re feeling jazzy you can even hit them with the food, bar, event/activity combo. Whatever you choose, I hope you enjoy it. Happy Valentine’s Day!
