Top 5 Ice Cream Spots in NYC 2017

We all know that even though it is officially Fall there are still a few warm days to come. The best way to celebrate them is with ice cream! I’ve compiled a list with my top 5 ice cream spots that you should look out for.

Tipsy Scoop

The name is 100% self-explanatory-- alcohol infused ice cream. There are a variety of flavors to choose from such as Red Velvet Martini all the way to Vanilla Bean Bourbon. I went for the Mango Margarita which was absolutely delish! The ice cream does have an alcohol content of 5% ABV. They even have a week day happy hour from 4-6pm lol! I can't say that I got tipsy eating the ice cream (maybe a slight buzz) but the ice cream was yummy none the less! However, that does not mean that it is impossible to get tipsy eating this ice cream. It’s solely based on your tolerance so consume it responsibly.

Milk and Cream Cereal Bar

So imagine eating ice cream based on your favorite cereal. Well, you don't have to imagine because you can try it at Milk and Cream Cereal Bar. Milk and Cream Cereal Bar has a wide assortment of our favorite childhood cereals infused with ice cream.

Here is how it’s done:

The Fruity Pebbles ice cream topped with Fruity Pebbles in a Fruity Loop cone was a match made in heaven. It was a ball of fruity delight lol. Milk and Cream Cereal Bar is a fun way to eat breakfast at any time.

Amorino

Gelato is more my speed and Amorino didn't hesitate to impress! Amorino’s gelato collection is endless. They also get an A+ for presentation. All their gelatos on cones are in the shape of a flower making it a beautiful, floral, edible treat. There are two sizes to choose from and you can choose as many flavors as you like! If you’re into tropical fruity goodness, I recommend the mango mixed with raspberry.

-321 Below

This is by far was one of the coolest ice cream experiences of the summer. -321 Below has smoking ice cream. Yes, you read correctly! Smoking ice cream! The ice cream is very tasty but let’s be real, the actual appeal is the fact that the ice cream is smoking!

Here’s the catch, it’s not actually the ice cream that is smoking but a cup filled with nitrogen balls and water that the ice cream is placed in. Of course, this effect is an additional fee of $1.50 but sometimes it’s the little things in life lol.

Witness the magic below

-321 Below has a basic menu of four flavors and a season menu of four flavors. I give the Cookies and Cream an A.

Another fun treat on their menu is the nitrogen balls. The nitrogen balls are cheese puff balls dipped in nitrogen. They only last a minute after you get them so you have to eat them quickly. The nitogen balls make for a fun smoke-filled experience.

Chikalicious

This right here is Mister Softee on steroids 😋! It's soft serve ice cream on a delicious churro cone. Originally, I sampled their Jasmine Rice ice cream (definitely should have stuck with that) but I decided to play it safe with vanilla ice cream and rainbow sprinkles. The churro cone was the icing on the cake. Chikalicious churro cone and ice crema is like cheating and having two desserts in one.

Snowdays

Growing up I’m sure we all thought how cool it would be to make our very own snow cones with actual snow. Snowdays definitely brought that concept into fruition. The texture is really cool, and exactly like snow! However, the flavor is bland. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it but it is a decent last resort. There’s a few flavors and plenty toppings to choose from. YETITRACKS™ topped with Fruity Pebbles and blueberry drizzle was what I went with.

Watch how it’s made here!
